Chico State |
Eight of the best college wakeboard teams battled it out on the waters of Lake Las Vegas on April 18-21, in a head-to-head bracket similar to March Madness. This would be the first time wakeboarding (and a power boat) would be allowed on these sacred waters. With the Axis A22 Vandall Edition as the official towboat, it was only fitting to have Randall Harris himself take the maiden voyage to kick off the 2012 College Wakeboard Championships.
With the goal of the event "to progress a sport and a college eduction," these students definitely got to let off some steam and everyone got their fair share of riding in. All reports were in favor of the wake and the pull behind the A22. It was fitting for Chico State to take the win, with their matching apparel and charismatic leadership. Congrats to all of the competitors, and big thanks to the community surrounding Lake Las Vegas for allowing wakeboarding to grace their waters for the first time.
